Cleaning candle jars properly – the easy & eco-friendly way

Before a glass, ceramic or porcelain container can be reused, it should be thoroughly freed of wax residues. Fortunately, there are simple and effective methods for this:

The freezing method – ideal for paraffin or beeswax

• Place the candle jar in the freezer for a few hours.

• The solidified wax can then be easily removed with a spoon.

• Wipe again with a damp microfibre cloth – done

The hot water method – quick and effective

• Place the glass in a bowl of hot water

• Wax residues dissolve and rise to the surface

• Carefully remove with kitchen roll

The soapy water method – particularly gentle

• Perfect for vegan candles or low melt point soy wax

• Fill with warm soapy water, leave to soak briefly, and rinse thoroughly.

• After that, the vessel is ready for reuse.

Tip: Please do not put in the microwave – the wick holder is often made of metal and could cause sparks.
